Edimakor is the download people search for when they want HitPaw's AI video editor on a Mac without waiting on a slow server. It's built for creators who need quick cuts, auto-attached elements from other tracks, and a timeline that doesn't fight back. Version 2.6.0 runs on Intel x86 64-bit Macs from Catalina forward.
The questions before installing are usually practical. Does it actually open on an older Mac? The requirement is macOS 10.15 or newer, and it supports up to macOS 26. Do you need an M-series chip? No — this build targets Intel, so older workstations still have a path in.
Most people also ask about the Gatekeeper workaround. The install steps are straightforward: mount the image, run Open Gatekeeper friendly, press Enter in Terminal to bypass Gatekeeper, then drag the app into Applications. That Terminal step spooks some editors, but it's a one-time thing.
The interface ships in 16 languages, including Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, and both Chinese variants. For a freelancer juggling client footage from different regions, that's more useful than another filter pack.
Auto-Attach Isn’t a Bug—Here’s Why It Follows Your Lead
The first mistake I see constantly: treating the auto-attach behavior like a bug. It's not. When you drag the main video clip on the timeline, elements from other tracks follow it. That's by design. Beginners panic, undo, and then place every element manually for the next three hours. Learn to expect the ripple. If you need a single clip to move independently, unlock it first — or drop it on a track you've intentionally left detached from the main sequence.
Another classic: ignoring track height. Out of the box, the timeline crams everything into slim lanes that make trimming a guessing game. Two-finger pinch or use the slider at the bottom right to expand track height before you start cutting. Your eyes will thank you.
Third mistake — and this one's expensive on deadline — people drag footage straight into the timeline without setting the project resolution first. Edimakor guesses based on the first clip. That guess is sometimes wrong, especially with phone footage or screen recordings. Set your canvas size in the project settings before the first import. Retro-fitting after you've built a stack of effects means re-rendering previews you didn't budget time for.
Settings to Change Within the First Ten Minutes
Hit Cmd + , as soon as the app is in your Applications folder. Three things matter here.
Default transition duration. The preset is generous, and for corporate work that's fine. For music videos or anything quick-cut, knock it down to 0.3 seconds or less. You can always stretch individual transitions later, but changing the default spares you from adjusting all 47 of them by hand.
Proxy toggles. If you're on an older Intel Mac — and with this build you likely are — enable proxy generation in the playback settings. Edimakor will create lower-res working copies. The timeline stays snappy, and the final render still pulls from the originals. Turning this on after you've already started editing means re-linking, so do it first.
Auto-save interval. The default is fine until a crash eats 20 minutes of keyframe work. I set mine to every 3 minutes. The backup files live in a folder you can point to an external drive if internal space is tight.
Skip the Sticker Packs and Master the M-Key First
Don't try to learn every sticker pack and transition on day one. Spend the first sessions building muscle memory around the timeline. One thing that pays off immediately: use the precise timing marker. Tap the M key while scrubbing to drop a marker at the playhead. Double-click any marker to name it — "kick drum hit," "title fade start," "client change at 1:12." On a 15-minute talking-head edit, markers are the difference between finding a moment in two seconds and scrubbing for two minutes.
HitPaw Edimakor's unlimited track count can become a trap. Unlimited doesn't mean organized. On your first real project, color-code tracks by function: green for B-roll, blue for text overlays, orange for audio layers. Right-click a track header to assign a label color. It's a small thing, but when you're staring at 14 lanes at 11 p.m., the color cues let you navigate without reading layer names.
If you grabbed an Edimakor torrent or an Edimakor crack build like the one floating around, you still get full functionality on the timeline — but the AI features sometimes fail silently if the app can't phone home for model updates. Test the AI tools on a scratch project before you rely on them for a paying gig. The background removal and auto-subtitle tools either click or they don't, depending on the build, and you want to know which camp yours falls into before a client is watching over your shoulder.
Shift + Z and the Unadvertised Daily Drivers
HitPaw Edimakor doesn't advertise half the keyboard shortcuts that actually speed things up. Here's what I use daily:
Shift + Z— fits the entire timeline to the window. After zooming into a tight edit point, this is the quickest way back to the big picture./(forward slash) — play around the playhead. It previews a short segment without you dragging in and out points. Great for checking a transition without watching the whole sequence.Option + draga clip — creates a copy. Faster thanCmd + C / Cmd + Vwhen you're stacking identical lower-thirds across a segment.- Right-click any effect in the inspector and choose "Set as default" — now every time you apply that effect type, it starts with your parameters. I do this for text titles, so I'm not resetting font and size on every single card.
The sticker library looks like a toy at first glance. But the search field in the sticker panel actually works — type "arrow," "circle," or "callout" instead of scrolling. For tutorial videos and software walkthroughs, these are cleaner than importing custom graphics, and they scale without pixelation because they're vector-based under the hood.
One more thing that's easy to miss: the timeline has a snap toggle up near the timeline ruler. When you're doing fine audio sync work, turn snap off temporarily. You can nudge clips by single frames with the arrow keys, and snap won't fight your placement. Turn it back on for everything else — it keeps clips from overlapping by accident.
If you found a Hitpaw Edimakor torrent or an Edimakor cracked version, the install process is the same Gatekeeper dance. What changes is that some builds may have the language pack stripped down. If your interface defaults to a language you didn't choose, check Preferences > Language — all 16 are usually in the bundle, but the selector sometimes defaults to the first alphabetical entry after activation.

Questions I actually get
Does Edimakor work on Intel Macs?
Yes, the architecture is Intel x86 64-bit, and the macOS requirement is 10.15 Catalina or newer.
Why does the install involve Terminal?
You press Enter in Terminal to bypass Gatekeeper after running Open Gatekeeper friendly, then drag the app to Applications.
